The purchase of my amiibo was quick once I found out that my Animal Crossing: New Leaf had updated.
Sadly, due to the lack of AC:NL fans, there were only two characters to choose from at my local game store. My personal choice was Lottie, an otter I was very unaware existed in the Animal universe. Maybe next time Tom Nook will suffice, but I am already fairly familiar with his character.
Once the update was set and I started my game, I quickly found a silver genie lamp. Once taken home I set the lamp in my room and touched the lamp. Wisp, a ghost, came from the lamp and said he could not do anything unless he had a player to use. Thus bringing in my amiibo with Lottie. All I do is point my camera at the sensor on the amiibo, tap the character and Wisp transforms into Lottie. Granted you can use any amiibo character from other games, which I have not tried yet.
My two options once Wisp possesses my character of choice are “Come Play” and “Give Me Something”. I haven’t chosen “Give Me Something” yet, but I have read that he then must give me an item. Since I have chosen “Come Play” Wisp then announces they are busy, but gives me coupons for letting him out of his lamp.
Once Wisp disappears I cannot summon him for another day. Although at that time I can then go to the campground and there will be Lottie’s RV. Once inside I am able to purchase her furniture items and read a brief description of her. Lottie is an otter and Lyle’s niece, she is a real character found in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer.
Being a tiny Animal Crossing fan, I would say adding amiibo into the mix was a fun idea. I’m excited to purchase more characters to bring to my town. I’m also very excited to see what other games I could use my amiibo with.
