Ubisoft consistently wants to expand their company, and get as much content out as possible. One game they have really begun to stretch and experiment with on this front, is Assassin’s Creed, as they have released a number of titles on console, and broke into cross-media territory last year with the live-action film, which was also very popular; it seems all of this has paved the free running path to a TV adaptation of the video game series, offering a completely new light to the game and its stories.
It seems to not only be an ambition of the company’s, but it seems to be in the works completely, as the head of content at Assassin’s Creed Aymar Azaiza confirmed the suspicions in a Reddit AMA. However he did state that it wouldn’t be rushed, and like the movie will be primed and checked continuously, meaning we could be waiting a while for this anticipated series, but hopefully he can “deliver something he can be proud of.”
Honestly this revelation, pardon the pun, really excites me, and I hope they can capture some of the story line magic that was created within the games, and colligate it with the sensational fight scenes from the movie, as long as they don’t also bring the tedious moments of the game, or the somewhat confusing plot from the film, it should be excellent, and I personally will be watching it on the release date, full of hope and serenity.
To top this all off, any Assassin’s Creed lovers who plan on binging this series need to quickly top up their Netflix accounts, as there are rumors floating about that Ubisoft are in the preliminary phases of a deal with Netflix. Meaning this could be a Netflix original, which could be big for both companies, and could create a phenomenal partnership between the two companies, paving the way for game CEO’s to begin talks with streaming sites.
What do you think of this? Let me know.
