A recent product posting for WB Games’ Batman: Arkham Knight Limited Edition has potentially revealed an important plot point of the title’s narrative. Skip after the jump for the potenial spoiler.
So last year, we reported on two special edition sets that were to be sold alongside the release of Batman Arkham Knight, the “batmobile edition which comes with a batmobile bust, as well as the “limited edition” with includes a Batman Statue. Via a recent posting on amazon.co.uk, the online retailer may have accidentally uploaded a potential spoiler to the game’s story mode, reveal, if taken at face value, that Batman will meet his demise by game’s end! of course we don’t want to believe it either, but then we saw the evidence:
“From a grateful city, in memory of the Gotham Knight.”
Since word has reached the Internets like wildfire, causing much speculation among fans and eager gamers alike, Amazon has since replaced the image with a non-spoiler version of the statue’s bust. However, the statue is still listed as a “Batman Memorial Statue” among the list of included content within the Limited Edition bundle, raising questions and fueling rumors that Batman, “the Gotham Knight,” may in-fact bite the dust and meet his maker after years of crime-fighting in what is being touted as Rocksteady Studios’s final chapter in their critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham franchise (the developer had worked on the first two entries, Arkham Asylum & Arkham City, before handing over development duties to WB Games Montreal for Arkham Origins).
Batman: Arkham Knight, developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros. Games, is currently scheduled to be released on June 2nd, 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Limited and Batmobile Editions of the game will be available at launch, which can be detailed HERE.
