Battlefield 5 news has been a bit quiet since EA announced that the next installment of the shooter series would be coming this fall in October. We have yet to hear any further details about the title with no teaser or trailer, which is bit strange considering the release slated for later this year. This could be changing very soon according to a Twitter post from a DICE employee.
Randy Evans who is the senior Video and Media Director at DICE, was recently asked on Twitter when we’ll get to see a trailer for Battlefield 5.
It's right in front of me 😉

It seems DICE and EA are taking their time with this one before we get any concrete details on what Battlefield 5 is going to feature. It would make sense to release a trailer sooner than later before E3 comes around and risk being drowned by the wave of announcements for other huge titles. Battlefield 1 was a great game, and a great return to a World War 1 aesthetic. It would stand to reason that Battlefield 5 would work forward into World War 2. This has some merit behind it if certain leaks are to be believed.
Hopefully we get a trailer sometime very soon, with an announcement that we’ll see our first taste of gameplay at E3. If Battlefield 5 does take place during WWII, it would mark the first time the Battlefield series has dabbled in that era since Battlefield 1943. With the current over saturation of future-based shooters, it makes sense for Battlefield to root itself within these older eras.
E3 is only a couple of months away now, and EA’s press conference will take place June 9th during this time at The Hollywood Paladium in Los Angeles. Tune in right here for more coverage as soon as it becomes available.
