Can’t get enough of Fallout 4 or Skyrim, but wish you had new content to play with? Well, fret not friends. Bethesda has heard your cries and announced its new project Creation Club at E3 to ease your pain.
So just what is Creation Club exactly? It’s a one-stop shop that consists of a variety of mods created by both Bethesda and “outside developers” to provide more content to Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition players. It will include new weapons, armors, characters, gameplay features and more.
Creation Club will be up and running by mid-2017. The new content can then be found in-game and players can simply shop for what they want and use credits to complete their download. Once purchased it will show up instantly in the game. There does not appear to be any way to earn these credits through in-game missions or achievements. So while technically you’re not using real money in game to access this new content, you will need to use real money to purchase the credits that are required to gain your awesome new mod. Credits can be purchased from Xbox Live, PSN and Steam as the Creation Club with be available across all three platforms
While Bethesda is using the help of outsiders to create content, they will be keeping a tight leash on what is allowed to make it into the games. Creators must first apply to be considered and have a portfolio of work ready to be viewed along with their application. In order to ensure compatibility with the original games, official add-ons, and achievements, creators must meet strict guidelines and are subject to “the full development pipeline.” Creators will be compensated for their content.
