This may be a game that you’re not immediately familiar with, I wasn’t myself but I’ve done a little research and its very quickly become hot on my games radar! Chase: Cold Case Investigations – Distant Memories is made by the same geniuses behind Hotel Dusk: Room 215 and if that gets you interested then you’ll be pleased to know it’s coming to 3DS October 13th.
Other notable mentions from director Taisuke Kanasaki are Another Code: Two Memories for the Wii and the sequel to Hotel Dusk, Last Window: The Secret of Cape West on the DS.
The game actually came out in Japan back in 2011 so it’s been a long time coming, it will be an eShop only release and it releases in both North America and Europe on October 13th so both regions can experience the game simultaneously. Here’s the official blurb for the plotline:
Players follow two detectives named Shounosuke Nanase and Koto Amekura. New information on a five-year-old explosion has appeared, suggesting the incident was a murder and not an unfortunate accident. Players will need to investigate evidence collected five years ago to find new leads, then bring in people to interrogate them. However, going astray during questioning can cause the Interrogation Gauge to deplete and the game to end.
So it all sounds very mysterious and I’m sure there’ll be plenty of plot twists to keep us interested. If it’s anything like Kanasaki’s previous work I think I’ll enjoy it a lot. I do love a good anime as well and the animation looks oh so Japanesey!
