In this week’s Famitsu, more information on Fire Emblem: Warriors was revealed starting with the reveal of Cordelia and female Robin. Did I mention that this game will have permadeath too?
Cordelia is the first Pegasus Knight and flying unit to be announced for Fire Emblem: Warriors. As a flying unit, she will have access to unique paths on the map.
As for female Robin, she will not be featured in the story mode of the game, due to male Robin taking her place, but she will be available for players to select in the extra modes. Also, female Robin will have the same weapons as male Robin.
If you thought Fire Emblem: Warriors would not have a classic and casual mode… Well, this game will have those two modes. Permadeath will be in the game’s classic mode, but instead of the units dying, they will become severely injured to the point that they are unable to aide you as you progress through the story mode. This is done so characters are able to participate in the story conversations. In casual mode, permadeath is disregarded and the fallen units can aide you in the next map.
Also, more details on the weapon triangle were revealed as well. The article mentions that weapons like the Armorslayer will be available to the sword units and specialized weapons for the other units will be available as well. As for the weapon triangle, it seems like a stun gauge will build up if you have the weapon advantage, and once the gauge is filled, it will trigger a powerful critical hit.
As for the unit selection before a map, it seems like that the player can only select up to four characters unless there are special conditions on the map.
