The Dark Souls series first captured our raging hearts with the original game’s release in September of 2011, and continued to grow for the next 3 years until the second game of the series was released. The hype was then maintained by the release of Scholar of the First Sin, a special edition of Dark Souls 2, that contained the 3 previously released downloadable contents (Crown of the Sunken King, Crown of the Old Iron King, and Crown of the Ivory King). Adding the Scholar of the First Sin changed the entire game. They were slight changes everywhere which affected the game majorly. Recently the Scholar of the First Sin was released for the Next-Gen and, admittedly, brought me back into the series.
Now, a rumor has been dropped on our doorstep, a rumor of Dark Souls 3 to be at E3! A report from VG24/7, says that someone familiar with the company said that Bandai Namco would be arriving to the Los Angeles games show. Whether it is confirmed or denied by the company, we’ll know soon enough and surely let you know as well.
This rumor excites me to no extent. I feel like a teenager at their first concert of their favorite band. I’ll admit that the original Dark Souls, had a fun time taking my souls from me many, many times. I should also admit that I later talked about the difficulty of the game and learned that I took a wrong turn very early in the game, and that it was amazing I was holding my own as well as I was, but I never got too far. When Scholar of the First Sin was released for the Next Gen, I picked it up and put many hours into it and played with my friends a great deal. Learning the fights and developing strategies was always the fun part, as was having to learn the story as you fight your way through unrelenting, restless souls. I await confirmation or denial on this rumor, but I really hope that it will be confirmed.
