Darksiders III was a game curiously absent from this year’s E3, with its’ publisher THQ Nordic skipping the conference entirely. Due to what seems to be another blunder from the Microsoft store, the release date for the next Darksiders has been leaked ahead of any official announcement. According to the Microsoft Store page, Darksiders III is set to launch November 26th of this year. Below is a screen grab of the store, just in case Microsoft decides to fix their error.
Darksiders III is currently in development by Gunfire Games, who has a hand in the development of Darksiders II as well. The official description for things this time around are below:
“Return to an apocalyptic Earth in Darksiders III, a hack-n-slash Action Adventure where players assume the role of FURY in her quest to hunt down and dispose of the Seven Deadly Sins. The most unpredictable and enigmatic of the Four Horsemen, FURY must succeed where many have failed – to bring balance to the forces that now ravage Earth. Darksiders III is the long-anticipated, third chapter in the critically-acclaimed Darksiders franchise.”
The text goes on to mention that Darksiders III will boast an open-world, with Fury having access to various traversal abilities making use of her magic to unlock new skills throughout. So far, there hasn’t been a large wealth of content to show off. However, what has been shown is promising for the franchise’s future. You can see some early gameplay below and expect to see a lot more upcoming at Gamescon.
