For anyone still unsure about the upcoming Final Fantasy fighting game Dissidia NT, the open Beta is now live for all PlayStation 4 owners.
The Beta will be live January 12th – 21st and features several modes and characters for players to familiarize themselves with. If you are still on the fence about Dissidia NT this is the perfect chance to give the games unique fighting system a chance. The open Beta features solo online play where you will be paired with two other teammates to take on a team of three rivals to the death. If you’d prefer to hop online with friends the Beta also features a handy party system that allows you to invite two friends to your team before the battle begins.
There are 15 playable characters unlocked in the Beta and each has very unique play styles and abilities. There are also several maps and a sample of the story mode as well. For newcomers, there is an in-depth tutorial mode that goes over the games rules and character moves. However, it is recommended that all players spend a little time with the tutorial to fully grasp how Dissida NT‘s battle system works. The tutorial also goes over some of the alternate battle modes as well that will be playable when the full game launches on January 30th.
This is a really meaty Beta and even if you showed no interest in Dissida NT, it is worth checking out since it is free and will last a little over a week. That means players will have plenty of time to find their favorite characters and learn new strategies before the games official release. You can download the Dissidia NT open Beta on the PSN store.
One helpful hint I learned while spending some time with the Dissidia NT open Beta, is that you can turn off the Moogles helpful advice during battles. For anyone who has already started playing the game, you have probably noticed the Moogle that keeps calling you “Kupo” during gameplay. If you go to the options menu under audio you can toggle the Moogles advice off (you’re welcome).
