Ever since it was announced at last year’s E3, Beyond Good and Evil 2 has gotten both fans of the original title and newcomers pumped for the long-awaited installment. And, although we all expected to see more, the trailer and pre-alpha footage blew fans away who were able to recognize not only the new characters as well as the return of Jade.
The presentation for Beyond Good and Evil 2 took over 10 minutes to get through, but each of those minutes showed us new and exciting cinematics, gameplay, as well as an unlikely partnership no one was really expecting.
First was the latest trailer for the game, giving us a little closer look at the story and mood of the upcoming title.
Then the presenters, Gabrielle Shrager and Guillaume Bruiner, described some of the basics of the story. We will follow this crew on, “a quest to discover the location and the mystery behind a deep-space artifact known as Moksha.”
But, as seen in the trailer above, it’s not just the journey that will keep fans playing, but also to understand Jade’s role in the upcoming game.
As the event continued, pre-alpha game footage was shown (which looks spectacular), but a surprise partner also came to the stage in the form of Joseph Gordon-Levitt who was on stage representing Hit Record.
In this unique partnership, Hit Record and Ubisoft are urging fans to create art, music, and more original content that will be loaded into Beyond Good and Evil 2 to fill in the background of this world. If you are interested in contributing your talent to BGAE2, you can check out the website here.
The one obvious thing that did not get mentioned that many people would have wanted to know is a release window. Although, since the game is still in pre-alpha, it’s not shocking that we didn’t get a date. However, that leaves everyone unsure of what year Beyond Good and Evil 2 could be releasing.
