Star Wars inbound! It’s well known by now that Disney intends to make some alterations to their flagship theme parks in time for the upcoming release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, in theaters December 18th. However, we’ve received reports that some of those additional changes may be coming as early as tomorrow, including ‘meet and greets’ with popular Star Wars characters and a first look at “The Force Awakens” props and memorabilia at a popular park location, as well as new Marvel additions…
Courtesy of our Disney insiders, we have learned that beginning tomorrow, Monday Nov 16th, Tomorrowland’s Innoventions Expo Building will reopen, sporting a new coat of paint and decked out with all new Star Wars-themed visual decor.
“Starting Tomorrow, Disneyland is reopening “Innoventions”… Inside they have their new Star Wars launchpad and have replicas of movie props.
They have on display the “Hero Lightsaber” and in the description it says that it was constructed by Anakin, passed down to Luke but was lost in Cloud City… but someone recovered it.
I met with Darth Vader. He speaks. Boba Fett has a meet & greet, his looked like it was inside Jabba the Hutt’s lair in Jedi”. Before meeting Vader, they have all the sith sabers, including a life sized Assaj Ventress replica saber!
Also shown was Kylo Ren’s saber. The description states that “although he constructed it himself, it’s based on an ancient design”. The port holes on the sides serve as ventilation for the sheer magnitude of raw energy the saber outputs. They also show Kylo’s personal transport, it looks like the Emperor’s from “Jedi” but reworked a little bit.
Captain Phasma’s helmet and props are on on display. Rey’s speeder is on display. Waiting for Chewie’s meet & greet, you see all the Jedi sabers. The cast members do a good job of playing the part, whether Imperial solider in uniform or rebel casuals.
The Millenium Falcon display shows Han put the satellite back on from when Lando “borrowed it”.
oh, there’s also autographed photos and original artwork for sale on display as well as giant full-sized storm trooper models.
Our sources also updated us on some new Marvel additions coming to Innoventions, which included the departure of a Disney staple in the last few years:
Honda’s Asimo show was gutted in it’s place is a cool extended Marvel Merch stand. There’s a new Infinity Gauntlet mural on the wall with “comic book” Thanos’s face and a read out of all the gems’ names and the gauntlet on the wall. Captain America meet & greet is gone, Iron Man exibit is still there, didn’t have time to check on Thor’s.
The insiders also go on to confirm that they has seen Spider-Man at Innovention, in which they strongly believe is his new cinematic suit from the upcoming “Captain America: Civil War”:
I also saw Spider-man & his outfit! Think that classic look “Amazing Spider-man 2” went for, but a bit sharper. Why mess with a good thing? Yea trailer with Star Wars, they’ll show him for sure.
Spidey was hanging out on the balcony. I think he was chilling there because the “Vault” isn’t finished. he’ crouched, spider crawled and webshooter posed. I walked up to him, bantered a bit and circled him three times, analyzing his suit before complimenting it. he was genuinely appreciative for the compliment and informed me he made it himself, used a LOT of spider puns . The suit looked great though. It wasn’t like a cheap print. It was raised in certain places, but still had that homemade look kind of too, and it had the big round spider on the back.
