If you’re a gamer you probably know what E3 is. It’s gaming’s biggest exhibition where the whole industry comes together for a couple of days to unveil their latest projects. Every year gamers patiently wait for their favorite games to be showcased, and every year some leave happy and excited. Others, disappointed.
This year seems promising. Sony has been showing so many games, so this year hopefully we will get to mark our calendars with release dates.
Microsoft probably has the biggest potential this year to blow our minds. They have been silent for a long time, and this year they are supposed to release a new console, the Scorpio.
Nintendo had a great launch of their new system earlier this year, and hopefully they won’t make the Wii U’s mistake and they’ll keep games rolling out every month. But I hope we get less party, motion, gimmick crap games, and more hardcore Zelda-esque games.
So what am I looking for this year? The list is huge, but I’ll try to confine it to 5 entries. So without further ado:
Every year for the last 5 years at least, I’ve been expecting a new Metroid to be announced. And every year E3 ends and my disappointment grows larger in Nintendo. Add to that the slap in the face which was the announcement of Metroid Prime: Federation Force.
Okay I know you read this entry and was “really…you’re still waiting?” Well not really, but this is a wish list after all.
Shinji Mikami Game
I love everything horror, and Mikami is one of those game developers I fully trust with their design. His recent move to a new studio under Bethesda didn’t particularly satisfy my expectations of what the guy can do. His latest game, Evil within, felt like a product a couple of years late. But I still believe and hope we get another Resident Evil 4, Vanquish, Killer 7 or even another Godhand.
From Software New Game
From Software took the industry by storm as it rose from “that-Japanese-developer-that-makes-all-those-mecha-games” into the Developers of the Souls series. Unfortunately, they milked the Souls series a bit too much so I felt the latest entry was a tad sour. But after all those games, I know From Software can roll out some unbelievably amazing games with great world’s, mechanics and level design. My only wish within a wish here is that it would be something new, fresh and unexpected.
My wishes are listed but my predictions aren’t. But first let me tell you, my good reader, one thing. I have the power to take a glimpse and see in the future. But that is not where my power stops. This list right here is magic as it will stand the test of time by proving itself true every year:
- New FIFA, NFL and other sports games by EA.
- A new Call of Duty.
- A new Battle front or field.
- A dance game probably by Ubisoft.
Those were my wishes and predictions. Let me know in the comments below if you agree with me and list the game’s you’re looking forward to, and have a great E3.
