Gamefreak is no stranger to releasing an updated version of their main Pokemon titles after the fact. After Red and Blue, we got Yellow version. After Gold and Silver, we were graced with Crystal. There have been rumors that Pokemon Sun and Moon will be getting a remake but this title would be on the Nintendo Switch with upgraded visuals and features. Someone has made a teaser trailer for said rumored title. It’s hilarious and almost looks like the real deal. Watch until the end because it gets more and more ridiculous as it goes on.
Pokemon Stars is the rumored game that would be supposedly coming to the Nintendo Switch sometime next year. The trailer starts off by stating that the events of the game would take place one year after Sun and Moon. You play as a trainer from the Sinnoh region; the trainer in Sun and Moon is from the Kanto region.
Some things have drastically changed for the better and some for the worse. Your past “rival”, Hau, is apparently the leader of Team Skull. The Alola region did away with the Kahuna system and trials all together. The region now has the gym leader system just like the other regions. 8 badges to collect and then defeat the Elite Four to become the champion.
This would of course have to look better than the 3DS version, so the trailer shows how much better the Switch handles the game. Team battles no longer lag whilst fighting and the Pokemon look great.
There are even new evolutions as well as eeveelutions. Eevee can evolve into a flying type called Rayquazeon (yes it looks like Eevee’s face on the body of a Rayquaza). To evolve Eevee into him, you apparently have to play the game in 50 different airplanes while having max friendship with all of the passengers. That sounds so easy to do and totally reasonable to get a Pokemon of that caliber. There’s a second new eeveelution named Splatooneon based on the Wii U title, Splatoon. To get this one, you must win 50 professional Splatoon matches while holding the controller upside down evolve Eevee. I could do this with my eyes closed.
With social links and the ability to put your actual human face on your in-game avatar, Pokemon Stars sounds wonderful.
You can watch the rest of the trailer right here! Enjoy and have a good laugh.
