Pokemon Sun and Moon have been released into the wild and at first I had my doubts. The 20 year old monster catching franchise has been slacking lately in making me fall in love with the franchise once again. But after running around the new Alola region for about 10 hours; you can pretty much consider me to be a Pokémon connoisseur. With a new region comes new Pokémon and drastic changes that makes the journey to be a Pokémon master that much greater. While I have not seen every new creature that is to see yet; I’ve decided to pick some of my favorite ones and tell you guys how you can catch them.
Stufful and Bewear
As soon as I ran into Stufful in the wild, I literally dropped everything and knew that I had to catch it. This adorable pink striped bear is just so so freaking cute! It reminded me of another teddy bear Pokemon from the Johto region; Teddiursa, another one of my favorites. I checked out a Pokedex online to see that it evolved into Bewear; a powerful fighting bear that looked tough and cuddly at the same time.“Despite its adorable appearance, when it gets angry and flails about, its arms and legs could knock a pro wrestler sprawling.”
If you want to add this teddy to your roster, then head on over to Route 8 or the Akala outskirts to grab one for yourself. It doesn’t take long to train either because it evolves to Bewear at level 27.
One of the more interesting, unique Pokemon found in the Alola region; Type: Null. This strange creature looks like an experiment gone wrong (or right?). It’s a bunch of different Pokemon put together into one monster. There are fan theories that seem to piece together what parts belong to whom. You may see some similarities to other Pokemon like Skarmory, Umbreon, Gyrados and Magnemite. It’s classified as a synthetic Pokemon with no gender and is a normal type. “Although its name was Type: Null at first, the boy who evolved it into this form gave it the name by which it is now known.”
You’ll receive him as a gift from Gladion once you get to Aether paradise. It evolves into Silvally once you obtain a high level of friendship. Silvally is pretty awesome since it can change into multiple forms for every typing. It changes depending on certain items that it’s holding.
This Pikachu imposter is probably one of the creepiest Pokemon I’ve ever seen. He has some cuteness to him but his Pokedex descriptions are somewhat terrifying.Let’s see what the dex entries have to say about this ghost/fairy disguise Pokemon.
“Its actual appearance is unknown. A scholar who saw what was under its rag was overwhelmed by terror and died from the shock.”
“A lonely Pokémon, it conceals its terrifying appearance beneath an old rag so it can get closer to people and other Pokémon.”
“After going to all the effort of disguising itself, its neck was broken. Whatever is inside is probably unharmed, but it’s still feeling sad.”
It’s a very sad Pokemon that just wants to be liked by trainers and people everywhere. He knows Pikachu is a popular Pokemon so he disguises himself to fit in. If you want to add him to your party, head to the Thrifty Megamart.
Let me know what Pokemon you guys like the most in the Alola region! Are any of these your favorite? Let us know in the comments!
