Welcome! It’s that time of the week once again! It’s #FlashbackFriday and that means it’s time to bring back the Flashback! Since it’s the first week of the month, we’re going to cheat a little bit and talk about last gen games that should be remastered for current gen systems. I know that the first No More Heroes game was remade for the PS3 and Xbox 360 already, but I think it would be amazing to have both the original game and the sequel (Desperate Struggle) on PS4, Xbox One and of course, the Wii U. Suda51’s blood filled hack and slash video game started out on the Nintendo Wii, so it would only make sense to be on the Wii U.
No More Heroes was a pretty unknown game when it first launched on the Nintendo Wii back in 2008, and it still is.The crazy mind behind the series, Goichi Suda, otherwise known as Suda51, has some strange games that have come out in the past years like Lollipop Chainsaw, Killer7 and Shadows of the Damned. His games are always quirky and fall into a niche category of video games. No More Heroes was no exception. You play as Travis Touchdown, an otaku who is basically trying to become the number one assassin in the world. To do that, he has to defeat all of the bad guys one by one until he reaches the top. The game is humorous, bloody, and insane to the max. A game this mature being on a Nintendo platform was baffling at the time. But the motion controls were the main reason for Suda51 to be interested in Nintendo’s console at all.
The sequel also came to the Wii a few years later and was even better than its predecessor. The original game was later ported to the PS3 and Xbox 360 as No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise. This “port” added things like new bosses to fight from No More Heroes 2 and of course, updated graphics. I really want someone to work on a remastered collection of No More Heroes 1 and 2 for current gen systems. Being on PS4, Xbox One, and the Wii U would be amazing. It would give people who never heard about the games a chance to play them in the best quality on their systems. Not only that, it will make the series more popular which might give Suda51 to rethink about making a 3rd game in the series. Update both of the games and put em up for download on the online stores for all consoles. Charge maybe like $30 and I would not only but it, but I would definitely get some platinum trophies of it.
These games were nothing short of amazing and unique. There have been so many remasters of games recently that do not need updating of any sort. It would be a favor to the gaming community for No More Heroes to be available to play on all systems!
Let us know what games you would like to get remastered or remade in general!
