Friday The 13th: The Game single player mode details have been announced thanks to a post made by Illfonic on the game’s Reddit thread. The details were a little vague in outlining exactly what the single player would be, other than mentioning that you would be completing challenges as Jason.
The other details outlined by the post include new kill animations for Jason, new behavior animations for the counselors, new VO for the counselors specifically for the single player, and some of the challenges will pay homage to the films. Illfonic also made note that Jason will retain his play style and powers from the multiplayer as well as having the ability to use any of the skins unlocked in the multiplayer.
As for when the single player will be released, it is still unsure, but it will be a free update when it eventually rolls out. This is only one part of many things that are planned to eventually be added to Friday The 13th: The Game, like single player bots as well as new skins and maps. All of these updates have been and will continue to be free which is good news for many early adopters who invested in the game early.
Of course, all this news comes in part with the game’s surprising physical release that just took place on Friday the 13th in October this year. The game has been a digital-only title since it was released on the 26th of May. The game still has a loyal base of players though it has experienced a lot of competition with the popular Dead By Daylight, which features similar game mechanics. Either way, it is still good news to hear that Illfonic is hard at work on the single-player mode.
