When the remake for Resident Evil 2 was announced at E3 this year, Capcom only showed gameplay for Leon Kennedy and the demo featured Leon as well. Now at Gamescom, there is a special playable Resident Evil 2 demo featuring Claire Redfield.
From the IGN Gameplay Showcase at Gamescom, it seems like the demo starts around the time that Claire first meets Sherry Birkin which also means that long-time fans of the series can also get a look at William Birkin.
What everyone noticed when the game was first revealed at E3 is that it features an over-the-shoulder camera angle as seen originally in Resident Evil 4. So, when Tsuyoshi Kanda, the producer of the remake, was asked about the game’s camera angle in the Showcase video, he stated, “The series has a history of different angle approaches… [The team] thought, very intensely, that the over-the-shoulder view would be the best way to convey the intense zombie battles which is one of the key pillars of the game.”
Huh… I wonder what the other pillars are then.
To be honest, I have only played Resident Evil 4-6 and I have been meaning to play through the rest. My main reason is that I can’t play horror games without flinching every second. But I’m hoping to remedy that in January 2019!
