It’s a good year to be a fan of Tom Clancy games. Ubisoft caught everyone by surprise with the big reveal of a brand new installment to the Ghost Recon franchise and it’s hardly recognizable anymore. Ghost Recon Wildlands has a whole new set up, looks more modern than any of the previous games and it now has a massive open world to explore.
No longer strictly mission based like it’s predecessor’s, explore the world alone or with up to three other friends to take down drug lords everywhere. It looks like the whole world map may be in play here.
One mission was shown off to show the multiple ways you can take on missions. You can either take the target out quick and destroy the product, capture the target, or destroy the business and leave the owner to the dogs. Going after drug bosses may seem simple, but that doesn’t stop the trailer from looking any less impressive. It’s almost unbelievable that this is really a Ghost Recon game.
Multiple environments were shown in the trailer to give an idea of a scope of the game’s size. From snowy mountainous areas, to small villages, and even motorcycling in big empty areas, this game seems to have it all. It’s just you and a few friends exploring! Ubisoft never has been known to hold back on exploration detail.
As with many Ubisoft games first announced, there is sadly no release date to go along with the announcement. The game will be released on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, but we have no idea when. But give it time, we’re sure to hear more soon on this new project.
