GET OVER HERE for this week’s Hitting The Shelves!
Mortal Kombat X – PC/360/PS3/Xbox One/PS4 – $59.99 – 4/14/15
The blood-shedding, spine-ripping, “FINISH HIM!” shouting fighter comes back for more in its latest installment. This game needs nary an explanation, but for me to be back into Mortal Kombat thanks to this is saying something. All of your favorites are back including some new additions, such as Jason Voorhees, the Predator and others who join the original cast. The story is supposed to be non-linear and begins where the last game ended. From then, a time skip initiates to bring in a new generation of fighters all while focusing on the old school pros as well. Not only do your favorite fighters return, but brutalities, fatalities, and gore-filled fisticuffs return in the most graphic way possible. You literally might have to take a bath or two between fatalities.
How about telling us about your favorite Mortal Kombat fighter and why? I’ve been a fan of Noob Saibot since the Genesis days and am not even sure he’s made it into this installation. If not, I’ll be the first one in line to buy his DLC.
Grand Theft Auto 5 – $59.99 – PC – 4/14/15
Another game that needs no explanation, seeing as it has been released twice already and every gamer of this generation knows about it. I have no gaming CPU by any means but the main reason I’m excited for this is the insane graphics jump, and the fact that I get to spend endless hours looking up new mods on Youtube. GTAV for the PC brings you all the features of the next-gen releases, I might add. Run, gun, steal cars, launch jetskis, and rob banks now on your computer.
Next week we take a look at Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China, the next installment to the Assassin’s Creed franchise. China is a 2.5D side scroller twist, bringing new flavor to the game. It sounds kinda fishy at first, but I plan on welcoming it with open arms before getting too critical on it. I imagine this is to pass the time between the next big Assassin’s Creed game.
Pretty slim pickings this week. Besides that, the usual wave of indies come to grace Steam.
And that is what’s Hitting The Shelves.
