As the year comes to a close, I continue the tradition of reporting on the holiday events available in our favorite video gaming worlds. Azeroth continues the tradition as does Eorzea and Tamriel. Check out how to celebrate the festive holiday in your favorite MMO titles.
Good ol’ Azeroth continues the tradition of the Feast of Winter’s Veil. You can expect to see Greatfather Winter on December 25th at the huge Christmas Tree in the two major faction cities. My favorite retro #ThrowbackThursday writer Jessie has detailed her experiences with the Feast of Winter’s Veil, a tradition almost as old as World of Warcraft itself. You can check out Jessie’s post HERE.
The Fest of Winter’s Veil began on December 16th and runs through January 2nd. You can check out a guide for all things Winter’s Veil on Wowhead HERE.
A very merry WintersDay for Tyria from Guild Wars 2. Divinity’s Reach will celebrate WintersDay once again this year.
“Bells are ringing, snowballs are flying, and Toymaster Tixx’s fantastic golem-shaped airship is hovering over Divinity’s Reach—the traditional Tyrian seasonal celebration of Wintersday is here again! Celebrate the holiday with us through January 10.”
From December 13th until January 10th you can enjoy WintersDay activities. Be sure to check out the Wondrous Workshop and the toys and treasures available during the duration of WintersDay. You can check out more information HERE.
Tamriel is celebrating the New Life Festival once again this year, and the celebration is well underway. Having started on December 15th, the New Life Festival rewards festive filled items to those who participate. The festival will have you traveling across different zone completing quests modeled after the different races of Tamriel. These quests are completed in the respective zones of the races. There’s even more to do after the quests so check out the details of the New Life Festival HERE. The New Life Festival concludes on January 4th.
Protostar’s Gala Winterfest Extravaganza comes back to Nexus in Wildstar!
“The Protostar Corporation is on Nexus in force to celebrate the true reason for the season: CONSUMERISM! Buy things, help Protostar sell things, and don’t let the war on Winterfest undermine what really matters, and that’s money. This greatest of all the materialistic holidays will send players on adventures throughout Nexus, culminating in an instance where players from levels 10-50 can teleport to the big shopping spree in the sky—the SuperMall-in-the-Sky to be exact. Get scaled up to max level and rampage through its shops, but try to escape before succumbing to the many overzealous salesclones!”
From December 18th to January 1st, take part in the festivities in Nexus and celebrate consumerism as only we know how!
Finally, Eorzea is continuing the Starlight Celebration. December 15th to December 31st it’s time for citizens of Final Fantasy XIV to help out with the Starlight Celebration.
“A Starlight celebrant of Ul’dah seeks to bring merriment and good cheer to the boys and girls of a local children’s ward. If you would ensure these hapless younglings have a reason to smile this year, pray seek her out, and learn what you can do to help.”
With household items and a Starlight Robe up for grabs, what more reward could you need for helping the children? Be the savior Eorzea knows you to be and jump into the Starlight Celebration today! Check out more details HERE.
