Absolver is third-person action game that primarily functions as an online fighting game. It’s set in a mostly open world where the player can learn various fighting moves and techniques that you can then customize into your own fight deck. This allows a large degree of control over your own particular style, opening up multiple options for how to approach your opponent in one on one bouts that take place similarly to how Dark Souls PVP takes place within the world. Absolver was praised highly for its’ in depth fighting system, which is the strongest core of its’ draw. This however, was a positive among some drawbacks that included a short single player experience and lack of content overall. This is the perfect kind of title to benefit from a free offering, helping to grow the community with more exposure.
Heavy Rain is a well known Quantic Dream title, which is the same studio behind the recently released, and fantastic game Detroit: Become Human. Heavy Rain was the first title to really cement the way Quantic Dream games would function, providing multiple branching paths for each of the four main characters. This lead to different endings, and varied paths for players to experience allowing them to have unique stories of their own. These instances are what made Heavy Rain such a fun game. Comparing how your story differed from others was always a treat, and the story itself, while a little predictable is still an extremely fun ride and very worth the ride. Especially if you enjoyed Detroit and this was your first time with a Quantic Dream game.
