Kirby Star Allies second free update will be available this summer according to a tweet from the official Nintendo Twitter page.

The tweet does not give any details on what to expect from the upcoming DLC, only that it will be available this Summer. The first free DLC update for Kirby Star Allies was the addition of some familiar characters from the franchise’s history. The update featured Rick, Kine, and Coo, the fan-favorite characters from Kirby’s Dreamland 2 on the original GameBoy.
One could only suspect that the new update will include the addition of a new character or two for Kirby to team up with. An image posted by the official @kirby_jp twitter page revealed an image that many speculate is teasing a new character.
The image is merely a silhouette, however, it has been quite difficult for the internet to figure out just who this character could be. Surely we’ll hear more from Nintendo in an upcoming direct about all of the details of the update.
Kirby Star Allies marked a major benchmark for the Nintendo franchise when it was released earlier this year. The Nintendo Switch title became the fast selling Kirby game of the entire franchise even outpacing the classic Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland.
The game was met with some fairly positive reviews with most complaints coming from the game’s lack of difficulty which has become a common complaint about the series over the years. However, the game has sold incredibly well and Nintendo continues to support it with free DLC updates which have only made the game more appealing to the public. This has proven to be a smart move for Nintendo as well as giving the game an extra marketing boost well past its March 2018 release date.
