Lego City Undercover came out for the Wii U not long after its release, the year was 2013 and it was a game that was not really on my radar and for the life of me I can’t think why. It looks like a barrel of laughs, it’s got humour, open world gameplay, lots of random outfits and now…CO-OP!
More importantly we also know when it’s going to be released for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4 and PC. You can pick it up on April 4th so it’s only just over a month away. Watch the new co-op trailer below.
If you’re not familiar with the game or it’s story, you play as Chase McCain who is an ex-criminal. He was sent away from Lego City (we can let the unimaginative title slide) two years previous to when you start playing the game. The city is having a big surge in criminal activity so the Mayor hires Chase McCain to come and clean up the mess, the wrong do-er is expected to be Rex Fury and of course there’s only one man for the job!
As I mentioned previously, co-op play has now been added to the game which is a huge pull for me. I love most of the Lego games and it seems a lot of people were screaming out for it when it launched on Wii U. It reminds me very much of Lego Marvel Super Heroes from the looks of it with all the different disguises and mischief you’ll get up to, which wouldn’t be a bad thing at all.
Are you a fan of the Lego series? Did you play the original when it launched for Wii U? What are your thoughts on this re-release?
