Do you want to be the very best Pokémon trainer in Kanto? Well, now you can in Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! After beating the Pokémon League and becoming Champion, players will be able to find Master Trainers around Kanto. By defeating these trainers, players can earn the title of Master Trainer.
In #PokemonLetsGo, becoming the Pokémon League Champion is only the first step!

These Master Trainers are dedicated to training only one Pokémon. From what it seems like, in order to battle the Master Trainers, players will have to train the Pokémon that the Master Trainer specializes in. When players challenge these Master Trainers, there are set rules for the battle – no items and one Pokémon only. To make the battle more interesting, the Master Trainer’s Pokémon will use unexpected attacks.
If you can beat a Master Trainer, you will be awarded a title. For example, if you beat a Master Trainer who specializes in Charizard, when you go to a Pokémon Center, Nurse Joy’s greeting to you will be “Welcome to the Pokémon Center, Charizard Master Kristie.” As for how many Master Trainers there are in Kanto, we probably will not know until the game launches.
I think this is a wonderful addition to the post-game after players have become the League Champion. I do wonder if players can choose which title they would like to be referred to as if they have defeated multiple Master Trainers… But I guess we will find out in November!
Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! will be released on the Nintendo Switch on November 16, 2018.
