All eight Mega Man X games will be available through the two collections. Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 will feature Mega Man X, X2, X3, and X4, while Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 will feature X5, X6, X7, and X8. The two collections will be available digitally for $19.99 each and a special retail bundle featuring the two collections will be available for $39.99. The retail PS4 and Xbox One version will contain two discs while the Switch version will contain a cartridge for the first collection and a digital download code for the second collection.
The Day of ∑ is included in both collections and it is a video that was originally included with Maverick Hunter X which explores the origins of the series’ adversary, Sigma, and the rise of the Mavericks. Also included is a gallery where fans can view the trailers for all the Mega Man X games, the artwork, and a variety of other goods ranging from toys to keychains.
If you’re a fan of the music, the two collections will also have a full soundtrack for all four games included in their respective collection, and there are also a couple of brand-new tracks that were created just for the collections.
Last but not least, there is a new mode in these collections called X Challenge. This mode will pit the players against pairs of the classic Mavericks. Players can take three weapons with them or they can choose to only use their blaster to defeat their foes! In this mode, gamers can put their skills to the test and track how well they do compared to others with a leaderboard.
