If you were hoping to get your hands ready to play Mirror’s Edge Catalyst on May 26, well I’ve got some sad news for you since it looks like it is being delayed until June, but for good reasons.
In a message from DICE design director Erik Odeldahl stated “Taking on Dashes designed by DICE, creating your own Time Trials, climbing the leaderboards, and connecting with your Runner friends are some of the Social Play features we’re really excited about – and something we want to play flawlessly.”
“To support the Social Play features, we are using a brand new online technology. We also want to make sure we have the opportunity and time to address player feedback from the Closed Beta.”
With all that being said Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will now be coming out on June 7 in North America and June 9 in Europe.
If you happened to sign up for the closed beta, it starts on April 22 and will end next week on April 26.
Opinion: Now I’m not too upset that Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is being delayed because I think that they want it to be a great game once it comes out and I am fine with that. What does bug me is that they give us this update a month before the game was to come out. Luckily the game only got set back 2 weeks so it’s not that bad, as long as they do not delay it any longer than that I am sure I’ll be okay. I’m looking at you NaughtyDog, making people wait even longer to play Uncharted 4 after a delay, but oh well what can I do.
