If you’ve wanted to deck out your Monster Hunter World character in the coolest gear, you’ve now got the opportunity to grab the gear of the famous Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn. In the next crossover event starting today (February 28th) through March 15th players will be able to obtain materials to create the iconic gear of Aloy.
Similar to the original crossover event for your companion Palico, you’ll defeat monsters to collect materials to craft into the gear. The monster to hunt that drops the gear is of course the “giant Anjanath in the Ancient Forest.”
Speaking of the challenge, you receive it from the Nora Tribe chief, and it looks like there’s going to be a bigger challenge than just the regular Anjanath as it’s been explained that “This Anjanath is at a scale that many players will have never before encountered, and your typical attacks may not reach its height.”
“In this brand new collaboration event quest, you receive a request from the Nora Tribe chief to hunt down a giant Anjanath in the Ancient Forest. Many captivating machines appear in Horizon Zero Dawn, but the one that made the biggest impression on the Monster Hunter: World development team was the Thunderjaw. Anjanath has a very similar skeletal structure to the Thunderjaw, so we felt it was the best fit to be the main adversary in the quest, but not just any Anjanath would do. This Anjanath is at a scale that many players will have never before encountered, and your typical attacks may not reach its height. We hope hunters will take on this challenge and enjoy a fresh new experience.”
Completing this quest will net you the Nora Brave trophy item allowing you to access the crafting of Aloy’s armor set and bow. It should be noted though that “You cannot mix and match the full armor set with other pieces of gear, but unlike cosmetic armor sets, there are skills tied to the set that can also be upgraded.”
To participate in the event, your Hunter rank must be at 11 or higher. It’s a free event and to gain enough materials you may have to defeat the special Anjanath multiple times.
Also, if you missed the first event for the Watcher themed Palico gear, there’s good news ahead. “Event quests are on a rotating schedule so you will have an opportunity to try out the quest at a later date.” The date is so far unannounced so stay tuned for information on when it’ll become available again.
