At EA Play, EA announced a new Need for Speed game called Need for Speed Payback. According to the executive producer of the game, Marcus Nilsson, the player is on a revenge mission to take down a cartel known as “The House.” The game will offer players a different experience than previous Need for Speed games with “more heist missions, intense courses, grueling car battles, and jaw dropping actions sequences.”
If you haven’t seen the gameplay trailer yet, I’ll let you watch it.
In Need for Speed Payback, it is no longer about being the first one across the finish line because EA is putting the player “behind the wheel of an action driving fantasy.” Not only that, but the player will play 3 different characters, Tyler, Mac, and Jess, who all have a different play style. Plus, gamers will be driving through the mountains, deserts, valleys, etc. in Need for Speed Payback.
Marcus Nilsson emphasized that although there are new features in the game, the title will retain its fundamentals, such as customization. In Need for Speed Payback, the customization options are deeper and the player can customize classic cars into supercars which EA plans to show off later in one of their streams.
The game will be released on November 10th, 2017 for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC, but the first 10 hours of the game will be out on November 2nd, 2017 for EA Access and Origin Access subscribers.
