We also got some new Pokemon reveals thrown into the mix. Check below for all the newly revealed information, as well as the newest trailer for Pokemon Sun and Moon. Check out THIS article detailing all of the newest Pokemon revelations.
First up, here’s the Japanese trailer!
There’s a ton to check out here, so let’s get started with the location. As we know, Alola is not just one region, but four islands. Each location is set to have its own set of island challenge trials, a brand new feature set to make its debut in Sun and Moon. Each island has a trial captain, shown in the footage above. Lana is the water-type expert; Sophocles, the electric; Kiawe, fire; and Mallow, electric. Trials can range from a variety of activities, from battles, to scavenger hunts and dance competitions. Each challenge is set to end in an epic battle against a Totem Pokemon able to call out allies to help them out. In order to move to the next island, players will need to complete these trials and fight the island “kahuna” in the end.
Z Moves as according to the Pokemon Sun and Moon site:
“Z-Moves are moves of great power that can only be used once per battle. When the Trainer and Pokémon’s wishes resonate with each other, and both release their full power together—the result is the explosive force of a Z-Move! All Pokémon can use Z-Moves to perform mightily in battle!
The Z-Ring fits on a Trainer’s arm, and Z-Crystals are set into it. If a Pokémon holds the same variety of Z-Crystal, the two will be able to resonate with one another. Crystals that correspond to each Pokémon type have been found in the Alola region.
There are two conditions for performing Z-Moves: a Pokémon must learn a move of the same type as a Z-Crystal, and it must be holding the corresponding Z-Crystal.”

We also get a glimpse of the ability to ride a number of different Pokemon in the world, aside from the generic Pokemon of older games. We will just have to wait and see what other Pokemon we’re able to mount in the Alola region.
There’s so much to explore and do in the upcoming titles, and with so many changes and new additions, Pokemon Sun and Moon are proving to be another reinvention of the tried and true Pokemon formula.
