JRPG and Studio Ghibli fans can finally rest easy. Bandai Namco have finally revealed the release date for Ni No Kuni II – Revenant Kingdom with a new trailer from E3 2017. We can finally expect the sequel to hit store shelves for the PlayStation 4 and PC on November 10, 2017.
In an interview with PlayStation, Dennis Lee from Bandai Namco fills us in on the story. In the video which can be seen below, Dennis explains that in Ni No Kuni II players follow the story of a young boy named Evan. Evan takes the reign of his kingdom due to his father’s death. Which sets up the story where Evan isn’t ready for the task and his subjects aren’t ready for him to take over either. He is the ousted which sends him on a journey in which he is intended to gain experience in leadership and respect so that he may earn his position as king.
The video also includes some very much appreciated gameplay. Within the video it is stressed that despite the bright colors and cartoonish look, the game has a very real and serious story going. Level-5 is going for a game that anyone and everyone can relate to, with a coming of age and prove yourself story. We are treated to some battle gameplay and the difference between the original title’s battle style and the sequel’s are outlined. Ni No Kuni II looks absolutely beautiful and all this footage did was seriously blow up my excitement. I cannot wait for this title to drop. The full demo and interview can be seen above.
