The March Nintendo Direct revealed that the 3DS is indeed not dead. Several games were announced for the 3D handheld, but the most exciting announcement was for the Luigi’s Mansion remake.
That’s right, the GameCube classic Luigi’s Mansion is getting a remake for the Nintendo 3DS. There is no official release date at this time, other than it is coming out sometime this year. The game will be receiving several new features exclusive to the 3DS. These features include a new minimap for the bottom screen as well as a boss rush mode.
This was a pretty big shock as many thought that the 3DS had met its end. However, Nintendo looks to be keeping the system well alive or at least giving it the proper send out with a strong library of games. As well as announcing the Luigi’s Mansion remake, Nintendo revealed WarioWare Gold and Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story.
WarioWare Gold is the first game in the series to come out for the 3DS. The mini-game collection is said to feature a best of assortment of mini-games throughout the series as well as sport a few new ones. There will be 300 mini-games in all, making it the biggest game in the series.
Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser Jr.’s Journey is a remake of the original Nintendo DS game. The original game is considered to be one of the best in the Mario and Luigi series and much like last years remake of Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga, it promises to add some new features and modes exclusive to the 3DS.
Overall Nintendo had a great showing for the 3DS and the Luigi’s Mansion remake is sure to make Nintendo fans think twice before trading in their handheld. For more updates on the March Nintendo Direct be sure to check out WTFGamersonly.
