No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again is a game we know very little about, it’s the third title in the series and was quite the surprise announcement earlier in the year. Famitsu recently got to interview the developers, Suda51, and get a few morsels of information in regards to how the game is progressing.
There’s no firm release date yet either, however it’s likely to appear next year. I’ve definitely got my fingers crossed anyway! Here’s what Suda51 had to say:
Next year should be good timing since Nintendo Switch’s stock problems should be solved by then, so we’re doing our utmost on developing the game right now so that it can be released at that time. Our direct task right now is to make it playable with just one Joy-Con controller and also to make it feel as good as No More Heroes, but there are also many old games that can be played really well even with few buttons, so I think the challenge is worthwhile. Also, this is a serious love call, but in order for Travis to be able to appear in Super Smash Bros. someday, I’d like to have simple controls (laughs).
Not only have they explained the potential control method for the game, but also that we could see Travis in a future Smash game. That would be pretty awesome and he seems like the perfect fit with his beam sword.
I do hope the game has multiple control methods upon release, I say this because I find the joycons to feel ever so small in your hands when you’re using them sideways. I can’t imagine controlling Travis in this way, however I have faith in Suda51 and I’m sure they know what they’re doing!
