The official website for Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night and Persona 5: Dancing Star Night was launched a bit early before the “Persona Super Live P-Sound Bomb!!!! 2017” concert ended.
As of now, not much is known about the story or the rhythm system for Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night and Persona 5: Dancing Star Night. According to ATLUS, the two rhythm games will be released in Spring 2018 for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in Japan. Since it is still early, there is no word from ATLUS regarding a western release of the two rhythm games.
Also, the official website for Person Q2 was launched as well, but as of now, there is only a teaser image with the Phantom Thieves’ logo in the art style of Persona Q. According to the website, Persona Q2 will be for Nintendo 3DS and more information will be released later regarding the title. Persona Q2 seems like it will be released in 2018 as well according to The Persona Channel. Also, Persona Q2 is a tentative title and it might be changed in the future according to Famitsu. Lastly, at the event, in an extra issue of Famitsu that was given to concertgoers, the silhouette of the protagonist of Persona 5 can be seen.
After finishing Persona 4: Dancing All Night and being a fan of rhythm games, I’m excited to see another Persona rhythm game being developed. I’m cautious about the story for both games because I’m not too sure how it can be worked but then again, the story for Persona 4: Dancing All Night was not the strongest. I do hope that the beat map is improved for these two games since I felt that several of beat maps from the first Persona rhythm game were weird and didn’t make sense musically or rhythmically.
As for Persona Q2, I’m excited to hopefully see the Persona 5 cast interact with another Persona cast (I’m hoping for both Persona 4 and Persona 3, but I’ll be okay with just the Persona 4 cast), but I haven’t finished the first Persona Q game because I wasn’t a fan of the Etrian Odyssey dungeon crawling mechanic. I’m going to give Persona Q another chance! But I’m just really excited to see how the Persona 5 cast will interact with the other Persona casts.
