Are you excited for the Assassin’s Creed movie staring Michael Fassbender? If so, are you excited that you can get exclusive merch only if you buy your ticket at www.kernel.com/assassinscreed. Basically think of it as a Kickstarter tier list where the more you spend the better the exclusive you will get. The value and purchase can range anywhere between $15 to $1200. This was made possible by Ubisoft, Fox, New Regency, and creators including Project TriForce and McFarlane Toys as they all collaborated for this to happen.
Just to name same of the products that you could get, here’s a list of some of them below.
For $15, for one week only, you can get an Assassin’s Creed LED collector’s watch, and replica temporary tattoos worn by Aguilar and Maria in the Assassin’s Creed movie.
For $60 can get you this McFarlane Toys Aguilar Hidden Blade and it will be fully painted and functional, complete with a button-activated extending blade just like it is in the game.
And if you want to go all out you could get this Spanish Crossbow from Ubi Workshop (Kernel Exclusive). Only 20 of them have been made by Hollywood prop designer Tim Wildgoose and it’s also a 1:1-scale replica of a 15th century crossbow that comes with a signed letter of authenticity. This crossbow will only set you back $1,200 no big deal right?
Many more offers are located on Kernel’s website to promote the Assassin’s Creed Movie that will be release on December 21.
Personal Thoughts: Assassins Creed was the very first game I played on my PlayStation 3 and it blows my mind on how almost ten years later a movie is being made. Sure there is this stigma around video game themed movies always being bad or not staying true to what the game was originally about, but this feels different because it seems like a lot of people are making sure that the Assassin’s Creed Movie sticks out and can actual be remembered. Also I like how this movie is expanding the universe of the game instead of being a movie about the first game. This gives the creators more range, instead of forcing them to make a shot for shot remake of the first Assassin’s Creed game. Anyways I can’t wait for the movie at the end of this year.
