Fans of the open world western series Red Dead Redemption, have been patiently waiting for any news of the upcoming sequel’s release date. Well thanks to a pre-order page over on Amazon Mexico it looks like we might have discovered the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date.
A source told the popular news site comicbook.com (link to their original article here) that they had spotted a listing for Red Dead Redemption 2 on Amazon Mexico with a peculiar release date (you can view the Amazon listing here). The listing has a release date of July 12th, 2018. This does fit the time frame of when Rockstar had planned to release the game before Fall of this year.
What also makes this listing even more promising is that it does not use a normal filler date that most announced games receive. The most popular filler date is December the 31st. This usually indicates that the game is expected to release sometime in that given year since that is the last day it could possibly meet that date. Other popular filler dates usually incorporate the last day of a given month or the last day of a business quarter.
July 12th however, does not fit any of these criteria. It is by no means an official date as Rockstar Games has yet to confirm or deny it. It also falls on a Thursday which is a little peculiar considering the most common release dates for games in the United States are on Tuesdays and Fridays. This is Amazon Mexico though, so it is possible that the Mexican release date is a different date than that of the US version of the game. This means our date could be possibly a little sooner than the Mexican release date. However, this is all speculation and should be taken with a grain of salt.
So what do you guys and girls think? Is this release date legit or do we have a lot longer than early July to wait? Be sure to comment and let us know and don’t forget to check out WTFGamersonly for more gaming news and articles.
