UPDATE: Red Dead Redemption 2 Has Been REVEALED!
Rockstar has tweeted a picture of the Rockstar logo in classic Red Dead fashion, with the red background and black logo, with no caption. Presumably it is to excite Red Dead fans, but there is a likeliness that it is for something else. Fans have anticipated this since the first game was released. People are going to be excited for the new game, regardless of if it is going to be called Red Dead Redemption 2 or something else. If the name follows the same guidelines of the other games, the third word is bound to begin with an R.
Rockstar has even posted a picture that calls to mind “The Magnificent Seven,” a western film including Denzel Washington. If it holds true to this, it is going to excite many western fans, young and old. Bringing in many aspects of western themed films and newer action movies hasn’t been seen much in gaming, yet it seems like that is what it is going to try to bring into the game. There has been leaked information saying that there will be online gameplay along with the normal single-player gameplay. It wouldn’t be surprising to see COD style zombies or other DLC. Making it more of a permanent game, like Grand Theft Auto.
During April, an image leaked of what was said to be the map for Red Dead Redemption. However, Rockstar has not commented on the leak, So whether the leak is true or false is up for question. But being a major game development company, images and ideas are going to leak. Rockstar sold 14 million copies of Red Dead Redemption as of last summer. After six years, it seems like fans may finally get what they wish for. As for the release date, there is no word on when it is to be released to the public.
