Next month the console sequel of the original revelations will come to the PS Vita. The game originally released on PS4,PS3,Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
The first revelations title was developed by Capcom to bring in fans of the classic, old school, resident evil titles. The game came out on the 3DS years ago and is still probably the best looking game on the system. It had you exploring a cruise ship as Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine. It was an excellent throwback and took the bad taste out of my mouth from when I played resident evil 5 and 6. Don’t get me wrong, I loved both of those games but they were horrible “resident evil” games. The game was later ported to last gen consoles so that people who never got the chance to play it can do so now.
Revelations 2 was Capcoms answer to fans wanting more survival horror that we know and love. Capcom decided to things differently this time around and made the game a downloadable episodic series. There are 4 four episodes total and each one came out a week between each other. The format worked well and the game was a blast to play. The story kept you on your toes and left you wanting more.
Putting the game on the PS Vita will give even more players the chance to experience this entry in the Resident Evil franchise and I think that’s a wonderful thing. I just hope the Vita’s horsepower can handle the game without any issues.
Look out for Resident Evil Revelations 2 on the PS Vita later next month!
The last big main entry in the series was Resident Evil 6, which came out a few years ago. It received mixed reception from every angle. The game was sort of a mess when it came to knowing what genre Capcom was going for. There was as much action scenes as a fast and furious movie which made fans of the series disappointed. Capcom is sure to show off Resident Evil 7 sometime in the near future.
