Resident Evil: Revelations is not a a new entry to the Resi series, however it is definitely a memorable one. The good news is it’s coming to PS4 and Xbox One this August and more surprisingly to the Switch later this year! You’ll also be able to play the sequel Resident Evil: Revelations 2 when that launches.
Originally it came out for the Nintendo 3DS in 2012, it garnered a lot of high praise for bringing back true survival horror to the series and it’s actually set between Resident Evil 4 and 5. If you haven’t played Resident Evil: Revelations then now is a good time to start, it really is a great game and has already spawned one HD upgrade to consoles in 2013.
The sequel came in episodic instalments in 2015 and it didn’t seem to get as much attention as it’s predecessor, I loved it all the same. They really brought back the tension and suspense that the Resi series had been lacking in recent years (not including Resident Evil 7 of course) and the gameplay is all third person and fits perfectly.
There will be some graphical improvements with increased creature detail, a better frame rate and increased environmental detail. There was some DLC released for the game which will all feature on the PS4 and Xbox One versions, no word on the Switch version but I should think if it’s on the other two it would be a shame for it to miss out!

It’s great to hear Capcom supporting the Switch after the success of Ultra Street Fighter II and they did say only recently that they’re going to continue releasing games for the console so fingers crossed they stick to their word.
Will you be picking up Resident Evil: Revelations when it launches August 29th for PS4 and Xbox One or will you be waiting for the Switch version?
