I’ve had the HyperX Pulsfire FPS gaming mouse for about two months now. Within that time I’ve decided that HyperX is my new brand of choice if all of their products are as intuitive as this one.
Though the mouse isn’t extravagant by any means, it’s the perfect blend of intuition, simplicity, and style. It’s got 6 buttons, a smooth glide, a sleek arch that fits perfectly within the hand, and a grip on the side to combat slipping during gameplay. The mouse has red lighting along the wheel that creates a nice effect, taking it above the level of classic, but not too far. One of my favorite features of the mouse is the DPI preset button, clicking it changes the DPI setting as you’d assume, but it also changes the color of the DPI button indicating which setting you’re on at the time. Overall the sleek simple design choice works, bringing the mouse a sense of familiarity while allowing it to fit well into your arsenal of gaming accessories. It’s a smart design choice, that makes traveling with the HyperX easy and allows it to fit well with any setup. This works especially for people going to a friend’s house or doing a tournament. The palm grip really benefits from the design choice, it doesn’t even feel like it’s there (which is a good thing). Also, it’s just a plug and play mouse, no extra downloads or software required.
The palm grip really benefits from the design choice, and the extra side buttons are placed so that I never found myself accidentally hitting them (like I have on some other mice).
This is where I can’t rave enough. I’ve used the HyperX against other mice and there’s really not a mouse I own that I can compare it to. The glide is so smooth on the mouse it’s uncomparable. The overall quality is amazing as well, and it’s honestly worth every penny. The tracking is seamless. The mouse is lightweight, further improving its usability. It’s responsive, so much so that even when playing MMO’s I’ve felt no issues with input when clicking on the hot bar, or switching between characters to heal. The same goes for FPS titles. I swear I’ve won more matches than I’ve lost since switching to this mouse. The best part is, it’s comfortable for hours of play.
Most importantly, it’s accurate. If you’ve already got a good gaming mouse though, you won’t feel most of the differences, aside from its lightweight feel. The cable is no hinder either, though it is a bit heavy.
While the arch is high and the mouse is a bit on the larger side, I have small hands and was able to comfortably hold it, and though I don’t usually use any of the extra buttons when playing, they were placed well enough to allow me to access them. The buttons aren’t customizable, but it didn’t bother me in the slightest, though it is something to think about when deciding on a mouse if it makes a big difference.
Overall, this is the best mouse I’ve ever used. The glide on this mouse is ridiculous (in a good way) and the functionality makes it a great purchase. It’s classic yet sleek style allows it to stand above classic designs while adding enough flair to blend with your current gaming rigs. It isn’t customizable, but it’s easy to plug and play with, and the colored DPI setting makes it easier to read which setting you’re on. It’s accurate and precise, making gameplay seem a tiny bit more responsive. It can be considered a bit big and has a heavy cord to plug in, but it’s still lightweight and easy to maneuver, as well as transport should you need to. It’s perfect for FPS titles and even a step up in other titles as well. Good for desktops and laptops. If you’re looking for a gaming mouse, it’s the perfect affordable solution.
