ShababalabaDingDong Bitch! Im pretty sure this was Rick’s reaction to this news as it was confirmed the Grandfather and Grandson team would get their own game! Honestly, I think that unexplainable excitement was mutual with a whole lot of people. Its large fan base probably went mad as they realized they would be able to play as the two quirky characters.
Rick and Morty have been sharing tons of adventures for over three seasons, since Rick arrived out of the blue, at his daughter Beth’s door early December 2013. Due to Ricks controversial attitude, and frankly dirty mouth; mixed with Morty’s naive nature, and subconscious innocence. The pair have created excellent entertainment, instantly finding the audience’s funny bone. If you haven’t watched or even heard about this show, then seriously where have you been hiding? Forget your priorities and put this animated comedy at the top of your agenda. Trust me you won’t regret it.
However if you haven’t watched it, and you really just don’t enjoy watching; probably because of all the amazing games being released recently, then don’t worry as soon you will be inclined to play as the pair through the spectacular eyes of virtual reality. So grab your VR, buckle your seat belts, and prepare to go on an adventure!
It may be the brilliant use of the attitudes of each character and how their opinions change within the trailer. Or maybe it’s just the amazingly cool prospect of playing as Rick and Morty. This just makes me want to shove the VR headset on and play around with all the features. From simple things like brushing my teeth, to unleashing Morty’s deep rage onto a load of Gromflomites (the flying bugs).
It seems like they have grasped the concept well, and will give the user a wide range of things we’ve always wanted to experience whilst binge watching the show. Especially taking control of the portal gun! In my own opinion I can’t wait to try out this game, it looks immersive, fun to play, and familiar. It seems like they haven’t strayed away from the actual basis of the show too much, which so many games that come from visuals do.
However i’m trying not to be too naive. This trailer is early, and of course they are only going to show the best bits. I can’t hide my overwhelming fear that it’s just a complete money grabbing scheme, which ironically Rick would be happy with. The game actually does provide a glimpse into the animated series and what it would be like to experience the life of a childhood which replaces video games with portal guns, and trips to the beach, with escaping the galactic federation.
