Since its’ reveal last month at E3 2018, fans of From Software titles have been pouring over the short trailer we got for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. It’s looking like the next chance we’ll have to dig a little deeper and learn a little more will be at this year’s PlayStation Experience 2018 South East Asia.
From Software has been tight-lipped when revealing certain details about their new stunner. Different from Dark Souls and Bloodborne, while retaining that subtle feel that only From Software can deliver. During E3, the press were treated to a short demo that helped to explain the new mechanics we’ll see a bit more of. Different from previous titles, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is going to feature a posture system that depletes whenever you take damage or fail to parry an enemy’s attack. The enemy possesses the same posture which, when gone, will allow for a death strike that deals massive damage.
The balance of this system and the new resurrection mechanic will make up the heart of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. So far, we only have our best guesses as to how these two systems will function when actually playing the game. If we get to see the same demo shown behind closed doors at E3, we might get a better understanding of what to expect when the title releases next year.
PlayStation Experience 2018 South East Asia will take place August 18th and 19th in Bangkok, Thailand. We expect to see a lot of new footage from multiple upcoming titles so check back for our regular updates of the show next month.
