If you’ve checked out our latest Podcast (THE Fightcast, which you really should if you haven’t, HERE IT IS FOR YOU) you know how we feel about fighting games having extra modes and fun activities. Finally, Tekken 7 is adding bowling into the game, and it’s about damn time.
THIS is what fighting games have been missing, that extra element of fun that brings in new and old players alike. The DLC pack which contains bowling will be released on August 31st.
Ultimate Tekken Bowling is, of course, the biggest advert of the DLC pack. If you’re a Tekken fan, you may remember Tekken Bowling first making its way into the title as a mini-game way back in Tekken Tag Tournament on the PS2. As the preview shows, it’s going to be a ton of fun just bowling with your favorite Tekken characters, new and old.
Of course, the DLC pack doesn’t only come with bowling (though honestly, that’s all I really needed), there are new costumes as well. You can look forward to:
- Blood Vengeance school uniforms (Xiaoyu and Alisa)
- Swimsuits (all female fighters)
- Vintage 1920s bathing suits
- Idol Master-themed costumes (all female fighters)
- Traditional Japanese Fundoshi (all male fighters)
If you’ve already purchased the $25 Season Pass, you’ll have access to this first DLC pack. You will be able to purchase the pack separately, though there is no price so far.
Seriously though, we definitely need more fun activities in fighting games. I will admit I wish it were a FREE updated DLC, especially since Tekken is the only fighting series that I can remember that has ever had bowling in it. I mean it’d be much nicer if fighting games came with this type of fun embedded in them in the beginning.
But alas, here we are, and we can expect to be bowling with Tekken characters old and new very soon. What are your thoughts on the Tekken 7 bowling DLC pack?
