Growing a little stale with the same Titanfall multiplayer maps that came packaged in the retail version of the game and couldn’t afford to drop the cash on those DLC packs or the season pass when they dropped initially? Well, now Electronic Arts is giving them all away for FREEEE!!
To commemorate the one year anniversary of the release of Electronic Arts’ multiplayer-only first person shooter, Titanfall, Respawn Entertainment has announced that all Titanfall DLC map packs and season passes will be made available for free via all platforms where the game is available (Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC via EA’s ‘Origin’ store). In an open letter to the gaming community via the official Titanfall website, CEO of Respawn Entertainment, Vince Zampella, thanked fans for their incredibly support during the past year, saying:
Since then we’ve been overwhelmed by the amount of support from our community. You’ve given back to us by creating costumes, videos, tournaments and art inspired by the game that continue to amaze the team here at Respawn. In turn, we’ve worked hard to create new modes and features as well as maps to show our commitment to you and keep giving you more reasons to enjoy Titanfall.
In celebration of our one year anniversary, all Titanfall map packs are now available for free on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. You just have to head to the online store on Origin or Xbox and download the Season Pass.
Thanks again to all of you who’ve supported us and we can’t wait to make more games for you in the future. In the meantime, if you haven’t tried the new maps, we hope you love them and happy anniversary, Titanfall!
Even though Titanfall‘s season passes and DLC map packs are free, now confirmed by Xbox Live’s community manager Larry Hryb (aka Major Nelson), the good Major also reiterates that Titanfall‘s DLC is not ‘stand-alone’ content and will still require a copy of the full game (retail or digital) to play the DLC maps. Also confirmed by Major Nelson is that this promotion now seems to be a permanent offer.
