This week we became both victim and killer at summer camp, and we also got a ton of new announcements; it’s almost as if E3 already started. Here is your weekly round-up for the week of 05/22/17.
Netflix decided to hit us on our collective nostalgia by dropping the first trailer for their Castlevania show and it looks pretty awesome. I love the animation and the action looks like it’s going to be plentiful, but i hope there is some good story other than the whole killing Dracula thing, you know?
Enjoy the show’s description: “The last surviving member of a disgraced clan fights to save Eastern Europe from Dracula. Inspired by the classic video game series.”
Friday The 13th The Game
This game is so fun! I’ve been playing since it came out on Friday on my PS4 and while yes there are some issues with the game it didn’t off from the overall fun.
The publishers were not expecting so much traffic on release so players are having some issues in that regard. When I tried to find a quick play game I waited for over 10 minutes for nothing, but I figured out I could use the destiny community to find other players with the same problem and ended up making new friends and having fun assassinating them (in game of course, lol).
You can play as different Jason incarnations from the different movies that can be unlocked as you play and likewise you can unlock new camp counselors; all these characters have different perks that can help either survive or die depending on the situation.
It’s so fun being Jason chasing people and trying to kill other players as they try to run away and beg you to chase someone else. You also get cussed out a lot, but it’s cool because they’re dead.
As a camp counselor you have to hide and find a way to escape camp before Jason gets to you. You can call the police, fix one of the cars, you can wait until time runs out, and you can also kill Jason; I have yet to do so because that involves getting close to him and probably dying.
Jason is so OP you really have to coordinate with other players to even have a chance to come out of a session alive.
This game is best enjoyed with everyone using their microphones and headphones as you can hear people as they get close to you (unless you find a walkie-talkie), even as Jason this game mechanic is awesome to scare the crap out of other players. Also, when Jason is getting closer to you the music starts getting louder and you start panicking because your stupid counselor tripped again while running and Jason is right on your ass why did you trip you stupid now you’re going to die.
This is a really fun game, and I can’t wait for further updates and the upcoming single player mode that will make this game player. Click here for a taste of what its like to be Jason.
Sega released one of their best games on mobile for free and it’s still a fun game to play. Play it now in android or ios.
Monster Hunter XX and a new version of Steins;Gate have been announced to be released on the tiny console and fanboys cannot wait (I’m one of them).
There was also a leak of a Mario and Rabbids RPG (weird).
This week was great and I’m having lots of fun with the Friday the 13th game. Hearing about all these announcement makes me excited for the future of gaming and of my couch potato ways. I leave you now with this awesome papercraft video, I hope you have another great week 🙂
