Welcome back to your weekly round-up; this week we’re going to talk about a few game updates, an awesome game release and some announcements for new upcoming card games. Here’s your weekly round-up for the week of 08/07/17.
The summer event is now live through August 28th. As with all Overwatch events, there are new cosmetics to be had for your favorite characters which you can see in the videos down below.
Lúcioball is back, along with a new competitive mode called Copa Lúcioball and a new map for the mode set in Sydney.
This being the second time around of the summer event you not only get a chance to acquire new cosmetics but you also have a chance to get some of last year’s summer event cosmetics too.
There is also a public test update that added two new deathmatch modes and a new map.
Château Guillard is the name of the new map and it’s Widowmaker’s family estate, which is filled with tons and tons of Widowmaker lore.
This is not yet available on all platforms but it should be in a few weeks, like usual.
No Man’s Sky
No Man’s Sky just got a new big update that adds quite a few improvements and takes the game closer to the hype promised before release.
Here are some highlights:
- “30 hours” of new story content
- Double the lore
- New interdimensional race
- Improved wayointing
- Improved economy system
- New mission system
- New ships
- Improved analysis visor
- Visual improvements
- Terrain editing
- “Joint explorations” multiplayer
We finally get to see some multiplayer, but it’s not what we imagined. Up to 16 players can communicate with each other as floating orbs, and there are portals and proximity based voice chat to help with that.
What seems more exciting to me is the terrain editing, since players can basically shape a world how they want to, and I would really like to see what creative patient people will do with this.
For more info visit the game’s website.
- King of Fighter’s first two episodes of its 3D anime are on YouTube.
- Lawbreakers another hero shooter that is not Overwatch released on August 8th. Too bad it was overshadowed by a certain summer event.
- Gearbox announces new fast-paced digital card game Project 1v1.
- Valve announces Artifact, a new digital Dota card game. “What’s a Gearbox?” asks someone after hearing Valve’s announcement. Everyone shrugs collectively.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is a much better game than expected and it doesn’t hold your hand whenever there is something to be done.
The game is great overall, from the graphics to the sound, to the gameplay.
The game is best enjoyed with headphones on, Senua is mentally ill you see, so she hears voices which will talk to you and her as you’re playing. Sometimes they’re helpful too, they let you know when an enemy is attacking from behind. A lot of the the time though they’re just dicks.
People have made a big deal about the permadeath thing, but I wouldn’t worry about it unless you’re really really bad at video games. I died like five times in a row fighting the first boss and I thought I was done for.
I wasn’t though, and there really isn’t any word on how many lives you’re allowed to lose before permadeath and some say it might not even be a real thing. And look at it this way, if you permadeath, once you go back to the beginning you’ll know what to do, and you’ll do it faster and die a lot less (if at all). Just remember that blocking is a thing.
This isn’t an official review since I have yet to finish the game, but if you’re curious here is some of my gameplay play through for you to enjoy 🙂
If you follow Rick and Morty then you know about the McDonald’s szechuan sauce that apparently was fucking delicious and only ran for a limited time during the Mulan movie run.
Last week the creators of Rick and Morty received the best of surprises in the mail!!

It goes to show you that when the Internet gets together it can do awesome things.
Your weekly round-up
This wasn’t a bad week at all (except Gina was being kind of a dick this week, fuck you Gina you know what you did -_-). Grinding for those sweet new Overwatch skins is kind of fun ‘cus you just play the game as usual including some Lúcioball.
Hellblade is sooo good too, kinda wishing it was longer than what people are saying.
Anyone else wishing they had their own awessome show so they could bring limited time things back?
Let me know if you do and what you would bring back.
Thank for reading, don’t forget to share, and stay awesome 🙂
