If you’ve ever been subscribed to World of Warcraft, whether it be back in vanilla WoW, through the Cataclysm or up until Legion, World of Warcraft is having a welcome back weekend starting now through June 24th. With the newest expansion fast approaching, players have the chance to return for free and get back into the fight before the release of World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth, the latest expansion in the long-lasting MMO.
“Battle for Azeroth fast approaches and you’re needed back on the front lines. This weekend only, we’re upgrading all inactive WoW accounts to allow you full access to the game and all your characters without a subscription.
Rejoin your guild, rally your comrades and get back in the fight.”
You can play as much Warcraft as you want on all your old favorite characters and alts until June 24th. On top of the free login weekend, there’s a discount on account services as well. Players who log in will have access to their latest purchased expansion, or World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor, whichever is greater.
The next expansion Battle for Azeroth will be released on Mac and PC on August 14th. With so many changes happening in the World of Warcraft, now’s your chance to come back and check out everything for free. It’s a great time to do so because so much has changed, you’ll be able to see whether the game has become something you’d be interested in continuing to play. Once the weekend event ends you’ll have to continue your subscription to continue your adventures in Azeroth.
Get out there and play World of Warcraft for free on all your old characters for the weekend!
