Tired of the noobs of your faction making your que times extra long? Wanna discover the glories of fighting for the Horde as an Alliance player (or vice versa)? WELL NOW YOU CAN DOMINATE PvP, SHOW THOSE NOOBS WHO’S BOSS, AND ENJOY SHORTER WAIT TIMES WITH MERCENARY MODE!
If you’ve ever played World of Warcraft’s PvP, odds are you’ve experienced times when your wait time began to get a little bothersome. Well in order to combat these long queue times Blizzard is introducing Mercenary Mode for PvP. Mercenary mode will activate when queue times begin to get out of hand, and can be accessed by talking to the agents of your opposing faction that will appear in your base in Ashran. By using Mercenary Mode, you will be able to enter Ashran or Battlegrounds disguised as an enemy player, and fight for the opposing faction.
There really aren’t any downsides to using mercenary mode, because you will still get the same rewards from winning or losing as you normally would playing for your faction. The only thing you will not be able to get are faction specific achievements. The huge plusses to this are that battlegrounds and other PvP queues will fill up at a much faster rate, and that you can now go and own those noobs who were talking smack earlier about your PvP skills.
This feature is to help WoW’s PvP players to be able to do more of what they love, and spend less time waiting in queues. This feature also serves to play into the Horde versus Alliance fantasy, and does not in any way dilute said fantasy.
If you would like to try out this feature it will soon be making its way to the public test realm.
