WTF Are We Playing days before Christmas? With the Holidays fast approaching, our lives are either much more busy than they were or we’re on vacation for the holiday season. With all of this extra time 9or little time left) we always find time for our number one hobby, gaming. So, without further ado, here’s what some of us at WTFGamersOnly are playing this weekend!
Greysun – The Walking Dead: Season 3
TellTale has had their hands full with lots and lots of projects going on at the same time. Just this past year we’ve gotten Minecraft: Story Mode, The Walking Dead: Michonne, Batman, and now, The Walking Dead: A New Frontier. I finished up my play through of Final Fantasy XV and dipped my toes in The Last Guardian, but i wanted something to play that felt familiar. I knew that season 3 of one of my favorite games was coming out soon but didn’t expect it come out this month. After playing Michonne’s mini-series earlier this year, It kinda lowered my expectations for the newest season. It didn’t flesh out The Walking Dead universe like I wanted it to and it just felt unnecessary. But A New Frontier has exceeded my expectations by making me cry in the first episode. Telltale brings Clementine back with a whole new set of characters to follow. The season premiered with two episodes off the back; Telltale has never done this before. The action, drama, and heartfelt performances made the premiere spectacular and has me pumped to finish off the game once the rest of the episodes come out sporadically in 2017.
Daniel – Rogue Legacy
WTF is up guys, hope the holidays are treating you well. This summer I decided to throw it back a bit and sink my teeth into Rogue Legacy.
Rogue Legacy follows the adventures of a family into a castle as they try to search for a cure for their father. Or so I think, I only have the journal entries to go by and so far I have 20 out of 25! I still have a way to go before completing the game.
What makes this game extremely interesting is the premise. Once your character dies, it’s over. They die for good. And you’re taken back to the start screen where you will have to choose another ancestor to try and tackle the castle with. As you progress you’ll be able to unlock new upgrades and classes. You’ll even be able to find new armor and runes that give you special traits. So each time you’ll be able to progress through the castle a little more. There are four different areas which each hold their own unique enemies and bosses. The castle is also filled with rooms that will either help or diminish your efforts to clear the Castle.
Last night I actually spent fifteen minutes in a special room that lets you change the theme music just listening to the soundtrack because it’s that good.
For $15 this a game I cannot recommend enough. If you want a game that is easy to get into and extremely addicting for this holiday break, then check this out!
Marissa – Overwatch
Hey guys! Marissa here again, and this week…I’m playing Overwatch?
Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Overwatch. It’s a fun shooter, with amazing character design, interesting maps, and more action then just about any fps I’ve played. Yeah, sure, Battlefield 1 has 80 million people on one map at a time, but I mean you don’t suddenly get sucked into a gravity whirlpool or forced to take a nap by some far away sniper. They’ll just shoot the brains out of you.
But why the question mark then? Well when you are addicted to one game (Smite) and you play nothing but that one game (Smite) because you are trying to “get good,” you tend to put a lot of other games (Overwatch) on hold. But this weekend is special. This is my first scheduled play date since elementary school! I’m so excited! If only I had enough hair for pigtails…but Jerel here is pulling me back in after new characters have been added and a whole bunch of nerfs and buffs have been dished out. I have a sinking feeling this is going to be a whole new world since the last time I played. If you see me on the battlefield…be kind. I’m still young. I need coddling and care.
Jerel – Final Fantasy XIV
With news of Patch 3.5 seeping out, and a live letter on its way very soon, I’m spending some time this weekend in Eorzea. My friend Eryc is finally getting married (in-game) and I can’t miss that. Plus MARISSA IS FINALLY JOINING ME IN OVERWATCH and I can’t wait to play with her. The seasonal event has some of the most adorable holiday outfits and sprays, and when I corral more of the tea onto their PS4 we will be unstoppable. Come online and find us!
What are you all playing this weekend?
