WTF are we playing this week? So, we’ve been swamped with gaming. So much so that we haven’t had time to express what we’ve been into. As gamers though, you all should be proud of us. So, here’s what has been keeping us busy all weekend!
Jerel – WTF Are We Playing: Overwatch
So, the Overwatch Halloween event is over on November 1st. It’s October 29th. That means have a few days left to play the first and most enjoyable PvE event “Junkenstein’s Revenge.” Seriously, if you haven’t tried it out you really need to give it a chance. You and a pre-designated team take on waves of zombies and “boss” fights against Dr.Junkenstein (Junkrat), his Creation (a zombified Roadhog) and his minions the Reaper and Mercy. On top of that fun, there’s the TON OF HALLOWEEN EXCLUSIVE LOOT CRATE ITEMS. I have been trying for FOREVER to grab that Mercy witch skin. It costs 3,000 gold. I have 2,100 and I will probably buy more loot boxes. Darn you Blizzard. In any case, anyone looking for those items had better start playing. There are only a few days left to level or purchase those exclusive boxes. WTF are we playing? Seems like I’m playing catch up.
Marissa – WTF Are We Playing: Battlefield 1
World War 1. The first war after the mass Industrialization of the world as a whole. The first time tanks, automated weapons, and planes saw combat. A war that involved the super power nations and the
countries all around them. This week, I’m playing Battlefield 1.
I’m a bit of a history buff. I love watching documentaries on the world wars and the cultural and social/political states of the countries affected by the years long battles. So when Battlefield 1 started getting talked about and teased, I was instantly sucked in. I had never played a Battlefield title. When it comes to shooters I have always been more of a Halo girl. But since I started playing BF 1 on release day, I’ve been in love. Sure there’s all the memes about bad medics and suicidal soldiers that rush in or don’t play the objective, but it’s been so fun so far, single and multiplayer. It’s also pretty
easy to pick up and learn what roles your class is supposed to fill. The only complaint I really have is how long it seems it’s going to take to unlock different weapons and gadgets. Though the defaults
aren’t terrible. Especially not for the medic.
I wouldn’t tell you to get BF1 for the single player alone, it’s a fairly short campaign, but it’s story telling and broad view of the war is still a breathtaking experience. And it’s pretty! So gorgeous for a war game! The fire, smoke, and effects look so realistic. And the campaign gives you a chance to embrace stealthy tactics and gives you a crash course in all things war-related to be better prepared to
jump into online play.
Seriously, if you’re a FPS fan, I would recommend you pick up BF1.
Daniel – WTF Are We Playing: Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth
WTF is up gamers! This week I decided to take my Digi Team to the final battle and finally finish Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth.
I was trying to take the slow route but with World of Final Fantasy coming out I decided it’s now or never to take the battle to the Eater Queen and save the Digimon World and the Human World once and for all. My team consisted of WarGreymon of course, he has been my favorite digimon since I was a little kid. Crest of Courage anyone? I also MetalGarurumon in hopes that I would aquire Omnimon after I finish the game. One Day! I also had MirageGaogamon, Seraphimon, Justimon, Mastemon, Rapidmon (Armor), and Imperialdramon Fighter Mode.
I know I had a pretty stacked team. With WarGreymon, Imperialdramon, and Rapidmon (Armor) as my main fighters I went into the battle field with a pretty great combination of speed and attack power.
I was excited to see where the story would go after investing 46 hours into the game. Yeah, it tells you when you save it. I played for 46 hours and that’s without trying to get all the Digimon Royal Knights, or any of the Seven Great Demon Lords. Once Digimon World: Next Order rolls out I’ll be sure to ready myself to completely give my life away that month so I can get every Digimon I want.
But back to the story. It was great. I didn’t love it, but it was satisfying. I won’t spoil it for anyone but if you’ve kept up with the latest Digimon Tri movies then just know it was a little reminiscent of that.
Well that’s all for now gamers! Add me on PSN @MrFudge1 or on Xbox @dannyphenton if you’re interested in playing with me! I’ll be playing a lot of World of Final Fantasy this week so be on the lookout for that!
So, WTF are you guys playing this weekend? Remember to let us know on Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook @WTFGamersOnly.
